A trade card color lithographed in Buffalo New York by the Courier Lith Co advertising the traveling circus and menagerie of the 'New Railroad Show' of Van Amburgh, Charles Reiche & Brother. The illustration shows Quedah, said to be "the only living specimen of a mammoth" that was thought extinct, and billed on the back as "the rarest animal ever exhibited" and 'not an elephant'. It was, of course, a common elephant.Complete. Approximately 3.5 by 6 inches. Text on the back stating that it is 65th season of the Van Amburgh shows. (Isaac Van Amburgh himself had died in 1865).
