Antique Vintage Carnival Knockdown Target

Antique Vintage Carnival Knockdown Target.About 40+ years ago I bought this carnival target and it remains a colorful part of history. It is hand painted in really nice shape for its age and still has the remnants of animal hair tacked atop his head. It is a heavy piece and still has the impact dents and bruises from the baseballs being thrown at it.
Painted in beautiful primary colors he would have had a rod that passed through his side amongst a collection of other targets all in a row.
Maybe 7 years ago their was another one being auctioned off and I decided to sleep on it due to the huge asking price. When I got up the next morning it was gone...DRATS!!!!

1 - 1/2" thick
3 - 1/2" wide
1# - 10 oz....It is a heavy piece of wood
Now before you call me an conspiracy whack-job, on the back of the target are a series of nails that once had a clothlike pocket attached...Wee remnants are still there. Do you think a piece of steel plate was slipped into the pocket insuring the ball tosser he/she wouldnt win no matter how hard they threw the ball.....Just sayin
