RARE! FISH MAN Juan Cabana Sideshow Circus Carnival Gaff folk art

RARE! FISH MAN gaff made by the FAMOUS Juan Cabana (you’ll his his gaffs always pop up in places like Weekly World News and other places). Juan’s gaff building consists of using REAL fish skin & fins. You don’t need to FAKE what is already REAL! This Fish Man head is the last of 3 I’ve owned over the years. I think this is the best one (most recent- Juan really did a great job on this piece). It’s human head size— rulers in some of the pictures— he must have used a human head mold and stretch the skin over (again— super realistic)… used green glass marble looking eyes! The guns are super strong compared to other gaffs I’ve owned (fish taxidermy always ends up getting bent/hit/broke- it’s just fragile). So far, this one has held up! The mouth is a REAL fish mouth with the fish’s real teeth (again- all these real fish pieces add up to an amazing gaff/display piece/cabinet of curiosities/etc).
I displayed this head in our Tombstone curious shop’s (White Raven Trading Co.) -Museum of the Strange - “Mysteries of the Deep” display—-it was seen and had its photo taken 1000’s of times! Lots of cool videos showing our museum online.
Signed by Juan Cabana inside the plastic neck ring mold area.
Pull be hard pressed to find another. They’re all on display across the country in traveling shows, tattoo shops, and private collections. I hate to part with it— but if I don’t- it’ll just sit in long term storage.
